The Child Within is the compelling autobiography of Lynn New, the well-established artist and inspirational poet. Using her gift of prose she fashions the facts of her childhood into third person format, weaving her reality into a fascinating story which opens on the evening prior to her 59th birthday; an age that by tradition poses more questions than answers. It is a time of trauma, having been discharged from hospital to await major ongoing surery. Raised within the freedom of the English countryside, her childhood home of Dunstable develops into a commuter corridor town and she watches as her beloved fields are abruptly laid under concrete; her world is changing! As she becomes a teenager she is made aware of unsolvable problems threatening to destroy the unity of her family.
